Carson City arrests: Store cashier jailed for alleged embezzlement
A 29-year-old Carson City convenience store cashier was arrested Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor embezzlement, a sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to the 2700 block of Highway 50 East to investigate a larceny reported at the store.
The officer met with the store’s owner who said that an employee began working at the store 2 weeks ago. The owners said that since she began the job there have been items and money missing from the cash registers, the arrest report states.
The owner said that on March 19 the woman took a bottle of Kratom capsules from a display rack, concealed them and then left the store without paying. The owner filled out a statement and downloaded the surveillance video of the incident on March 19. The woman was arrested for suspicion of misdemeanor embezzlement. No bail amount was given.

— A Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 1:46 a.m. in the 800 block of Saliman Road for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was called for a domestic dispute. He arrived and met with a woman and her boyfriend. There was a child also in the residence.
The officer made contact with the man, who had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. The deputy asked the man how much he had to drink. The man stated he had not consumed alcohol since the day prior. The officer told the man he smelled very strongly of alcohol. The man then admitted to having two shots, the arrest report states.
A records check showed the man to be on alternative sentencing with a clause for no alcohol consumption. The man consented to a preliminary breath test with a .116 result. He was arrested for violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $1,000.
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was booked Monday into Carson City jail on a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant, a sheriff’s deputy said. Bail: $5,000.
