Carson City deputies arrest father and son on kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy charges
UPDATE: An 18-year-old Carson City house painter and his father were arrested Tuesday on three felony warrant charges including robbery, kidnapping and conspiracy.
Brent Michael Martin and Michael Ray Martin, 39, are each being held on $150,000 bail. Warrant for their arrests were issued Monday from Carson City Justice Court. The men were arrested at 4:24 p.m. in the 1900 block of East Long Street. Arresting deputies were Joe Apple and Gary Denham.
Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said the investigation lasted about a month. The case involves a male victim who was robbed at knifepoint and held hostage. The victim was then forced to drive around Carson City in an attempt to contact people to get money for drugs, said Furlong.
The sheriff's office was contacted by the victim and it took about four weeks of investigating before there was enough evidence to make the arrests, said Furlong.
