Carson City Public Works flushes water mains in the Riverview and Buzzy’s Ranch areas
UPDATE: 3:51PM: Carson City Public Works is conducting water main testing in the areas of Riverview and Buzzy's Ranch this week. The following is the Code Red Notification that was sent out to residents within these areas:
"Carson City Public Works will be performing water main flushing in the Riverview and Buzzy’s Ranch areas March 14 through March 18.
"There is a potential for discolored water in these areas. Although the water will be safe for all uses including bathing, cooking and consumption, residents are advised to avoid washing light colored laundry until any discoloration has cleared up. If you have any questions, please call 887-2355.
"Carson City utilizes the CodeRED Emergency Notification System. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency which requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices)."

There have also been reports of discolored water from pipes in the East Robinson Street area near the high school. According to public works, the discolored water drifted further into the system than expected and residents were notified and the notification was expanded based on the input, said Curtis Horton, Public Works Operations Chief.
"If people have concerns, we have technicians available to answer questions and meet with them, whatever the case may be," said Horton.
