NHP: Highway 395 re-opens near Jacks Valley Road after truck emits strong odor
UPDATE 1:22PM: The truck is now being assessed by East Fork Fire and has been taken back to the Douglas County Transfer Station where it had originally left from, officials said. The Nevada National Guard Civil Support Team is conducting a Hazmat assessment at the Douglas County Transfer Station, which is now closed indefinitely. There are no reported injuries at this time. Highway 395 is now open in both directions.

UPDATE 12:35PM: The scene has been declared safe and the roadway has been reopened in both directions, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol via Twitter. There is no longer a hazmat situation.

Nevada Highway Patrol troopers were at the scene of a potential hazmat situation late Tuesday morning south of Carson City in Douglas County.
A truck that emitted a toxic odor in a different location drove onto northbound US-395 and stopped near Jacks Valley Road, according to NHP.
Traffic is currently shut down in both directions. Northbound traffic is stopped at US-395 and Mica Drive. Southbound traffic is stopped at US-395 and Jacks Valley Road. Avoid the area.
Southbound 395 motorists are being diverted onto southbound Jacks Valley Road. Northbound 395 traffic is being diverted westbound onto Mica Drive to Vista Grande to Jacks Valley Road. Motorists can expect delays.
