22-year-old arrested for felony failure to register as a sex offender after moving to Carson City
A 22-year-old man was arrested in the 600 block of E. John Street for failing to register as a sex offender after moving to Carson City a month ago.
Cody Brandon Huynh was arrested Thursday evening by SET deputies. SET received information from the Nevada Threat Analysis Center that Huynh had moved to the Carson City area from Utah and had been living at a residence on John Street.
According to the police report, Huynh’s criminal history revealed that he was convicted of statutory sexual seduction and sexual assault, and Huynh had not registered with local law enforcement as required by law.
Deputies made contact with Huynh and confirmed he had been in the Carson City area for about one month, which was confirmed by his roommates.
Huynh was taken into custody, and he requested his phone be released to his roommate. He was transported to the jail without incident.

Warrants:
— A 37-year-old Yerington man was arrested in the 300 block of N. Carson Street on a failure to appear warrant after being served with a protection order.
According to the police report, deputies went to a restaurant on N. Carson Street to serve the man a temporary protection order issued by the Carson City Justice Court.
Prior to making contact, deputies ran a wants and warrants check and determined there was a Walker River Township Court warrant out for the man, issued on Feb. 4, for failing to appear on a traffic citation.
The man met the deputies behind the building so as not to disturb the restaurant patrons, and he was taken into custody without issue.
Bail: $390 cash only
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 500 block of N. Carson Street Thursday evening on a warrant out of Reno Municipal Court for violation of a suspended sentence.
Deputies arrested the man after a call came in about a subject possibly overdosing in the bathroom. The reporting party had found the man in a bathroom unresponsive.
When deputies and EMS arrived, he was responsive, but Carson City Fire/EMS advised he did not appear normal, and he should go to the hospital, but the man was refusing to go.
The man denied any use of prescription medication or controlled substances, but he was “unusually sweaty” and was making very quick and exaggerated movements, according to the arrest report.
After a warrants check, it was determined the man had a suspended sentence violation warrant out of Reno, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Bail: $2,500 cash only
