Missing Dayton woman found dead in remote area of Douglas County
A Dayton woman missing since last week was found deceased Sunday in a remote area of Douglas County, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
Deon Kincade-Hodson was reported missing on Feb. 22. She was last seen on Feb. 20 at approximately 12:20 pm and left her Dayton residence to run errands.
On Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023 at approximately 12:30 p.m. the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division was contacted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office who reported a citizen had located Deon Kincade-Hodson’s vehicle in a remote area of Douglas County, according to a LCSO news release.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Douglas County Search and Rescue responded to the area and located the vehicle, as well as the remains of a deceased adult female.
At approximately 5:40 p.m. Sunday the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the remains discovered were in fact those of Deon Kincade-Hodson.
"The thoughts and prayers of the entire Lyon County Sheriff’s Office go out to the family and friends of Ms. Kincade-Hodson," the Lyon County Sheriff's Office stated in the news release.
The investigation into her discovery and recovery is being done by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
