Carson City arrests: Man jailed after investigation into weekend stabbing
A 22-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday for felony suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon after a stabbing that happened early Saturday, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Nicholas Anthony Dove, 22, was taken into custody at 12:01 p.m. in the 900 block of Woodside Drive. Prior to transporting him to jail, he was searched where a methamphetamine pipe with meth inside was found. He also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Investigators had been looking for the man suspected in the stabbing that happened on Bel Aire Circle, in which the victim walked into Carson Tahoe Hospital early Saturday morning with a knife in his shoulder area. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Bail: $32,500.
In other arrests:
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 1:17 a.m. in the 200 block of David Street for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, deputies met with the victim who said she had been battered by her husband and that he had hit her in the head and caused an injury to her ear. The officer observed blood on her right ear. She told the officer that she bit and scratched the man to get away from him.
Deputies met with the suspect who had fresh scratches on the left side of his neck. He also claimed he was bit in the argument. He told the deputy that he grabbed the woman when she attempted to leave. He said she scratched and bit him and ran out of the house. The officer determined the man to be the primary aggressor. Bail: $3,137.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 5:31 p.m. in the 200 block of Jeanell Drive for suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area for a report of a rollover accident. A female off duty nurse was assisting the man when officers arrived.
The man told deputies he was alone in his vehicle driving and hit a puddle and a curb. He had a superficial cut above his ear on his head and hand. The deputy could smell an odor of alcohol on the man. He was asked if he would participate in field sobriety tests and he consented, showing signs of impairment. He took a preliminary breath test with a result of .224. At jail he consented to a blood draw. Bail: $1,224.
— A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 5:14 p.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street for two failure to appear warrants issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,480.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was booked into jail Monday, 10:33 a.m. for a misdemeanor warrant issued Feb. 6, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
