Kidnapping suspect taken into custody by Carson City Sheriff's Office

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Special Enforcement units took 30-year-old Aaron Friesen, (9/13/93) into custody at approximately 2:35 p.m. at a downtown North Curry Street residential Inn. Friesen had been identified as one of two suspects who attempted a forceful kidnapping on February 8, 2024 at the 1300 block of Fleetwood Avenue in Carson City.

On February 8, 2024, at approximately 10:10 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded to the Fleetwood Avenue address where the reporting persons alleged an attempted abduction at gunpoint had taken place.

The victim was identified as a 20-year-old adult male. It was reported that the victim had been handcuffed by two men who presented themselves as federal officers making an arrest.

After the victim was handcuffed, his 56-year-old roommate became suspicious, and a physical fight ensued. Both suspects fled the area. Minor injuries to the roommate were reported, but medical attention was not required.

Detectives investigating the incident learned that neither suspect was known to the victims, but they had fled in a white Chevy Tahoe. Detectives were able to track information related to the vehicle and identified Aaron Friesen as one of the two suspects.

On February 9th, the suspects vehicle was located at a North Curry Street downtown Inn. Friesen was taken into custody by a SWAT Unit without incident. The second unidentified suspect remains at large. The unidentified suspect was described as a while male wearing dark clothing. Both suspects were wearing apparel consistent with law enforcement persons.

Friesen was transported to the Carson City Jail and booked on the charges of Attempted Kidnapping with a Deadly Weapon, Battery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Burglary with a Deadly Weapon, and Impersonating a Peace Officer. Bail was set at $100,000.00.

Anyone with information regarding the alleged kidnapping is urged to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at 775-887-2677.
