Quad County, Carson City COVID-19 Thursday briefing: 1 death, 20 new cases and 19 recoveries

A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon and alleged gross misdemeanor luring children, a sheriff's deputy said.

Legislation introduced in the House of Representatives last week is calling for gold and silver commemorative coins in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Carson City Mint.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called Wednesday afternoon to a fully engulfed vehicle fire that was spreading in the area of an east Carson City vehicle salvage yard.

A 53-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor destruction of property and misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
