Senior Care to host ABCs of Medicare monthly seminars in Carson City
Those preparing for Medicare can take advantage of monthly educational seminars in Carson City beginning in February and running to September.
Local experts will go over the ABCs of Medicare in the seminars hosted by Senior Care Plus, a division of Hometown Health, a locally-owned, not-for-profit health insurance company.
“When changing from employer-sponsored or individual insurance plans to Medicare, it can be confusing to know what plan will fit your needs best,” said CJ Bawden, manager at Senior Care Plus. “The ABCs of Medicare helps newly eligible Medicare beneficiaries understand the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of Medicare plans so they can make the right choice.”
The 90-minute seminar covers the “parts” of Medicare – A, B, C and D – as well as eligibility and enrollment options and how to personalize Medicare options based on individual needs. The seminar will break down original Medicare coverage, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans in addition to giving in-depth information about the Medicare prescription drug coverage programs.
“From supplements, to Advantage plans to prescription drug coverage, this seminar explains it all. As a local company we want to make sure our community knows they have a trusted information source and can stop by to talk with a real person when they have questions,” said Bawden.
The ABCs of Medicare will be presented by Christopher Gourlay, Robert Chiselko, Emily Weddle and Deborah Suttmiller with Hometown Health, Northern Nevada’s largest and only locally-owned not-for-profit insurance company. Each of the presenters is well versed in Medicare and can answer any questions.
Seminars will be held in two locations: 911 Topsy Ln. #230 in Carson City and 10315 Professional Circle in Reno at the following dates and times:
Thursday, Feb. 8, 6 p.m.
Saturday, March 10, 11 a.m.
