Carson City arrests: Deputies occupied with domestics, DUIs and foot chases
A 43-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 1:09 a.m. in the 600 block of College Parkway for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, the suspect allegedly spit in his girlfriend’s face, threw a glass of wine at her and then poured wine in her purse and work bag. The woman left the residence and went to the sheriff’s office to report the incident.
Officers arrived at the home and observed fresh wine on the floor in the kitchen, in the woman’s purse and on the chair in the living room. The man denied he threw the wine and said the woman did it. The officer did not observe any evidence of that, the arrest report states. Bail: $3,137.
— A 19-year-old San Rafael, Calif., man was arrested early Thursday, 2:55 a.m. in the area of South Roop and Oregon streets for suspicion of DUI, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a member of the fire department advised dispatch of observing a vehicle run a stoplight and stop sign.
Officers located the red Honda parked in a dirt field on the west side of Roop Street. A deputy approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver. He said he was lost and unaware he ran a stop sign or stoplight. He had watery eyes and an odor of alcohol.
The officer asked the man if he had been drinking and he said he had. He agreed to do field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. His preliminary breath test was a .177 and he was arrested. At jail he voluntarily submitted to a blood test. Bail: $1,137.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 8:48 p.m. in the 2900 block of Menlo Drive for suspicion of obstructing an officer. According to the arrest report, deputies were sent to the area to assist with a combative man. Deputies attempted to talk with the man, who was yelling and cussing and not listening. The man then took off running, tripped and fell causing a laceration on his finger. He was taken to the hospital, medically treated and then taken to jail. Bail: $412.
— A 30-year-old Mound House man was arrested Wednesday, 3:39 p.m. in the area of Musser and Roop streets for misdemeanor probation violation. The man allegedly took off running after he was to take a drug test at drug court. Parole and Probation requested a no-bail hold for the man. He was held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 12:15 p.m. in the area of North Carson and North Division for two counts misdemeanor obstructing and a misdemeanor probation violation warrant.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was on routine patrol when he observed a man in a parking lot. When the officer saw the man and identified him, he took off running. The man ran south on Carson Street and then west into the Evergreen Center.
Dispatch stated he was on Alternative Sentencing and was arrest able for not reporting to their officer. Deputies also received information the man had access to firearms and officers could be at risk.
Deputies were later dispatch to a business after learning the suspect was there. The man took off running from officers, jumping over fences and backyards in the 1800 block of North Nevada Street.
During the foot pursuit, a deputy located the man, tackled him to the ground and held him there until other officers arrived. Bail: $3,412.
