Event Date:
November 26, 2021 - 7:00pm

Be swept away this Thanksgiving weekend when snowflakes, bonbons and sugarplum fairies come to life! Enjoy this magical performance with professional dancers Erica Chipp-Adams and Oliver Adams who will return to inspire audiences as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.

Additional professionals gracing the stage are Laura Lunde of Oceania Ballet and Elliot Adams of Varna State Ballet Company in Bulgaria who will perform their magnificent rendition of the Snow Queen and King.

Kelsey Gerber will be featured as the Chinese Soloist and Gretchen Lewall will demonstrate a crowd-pleasing performance as the Arabian soloist. And don’t forget the audience favorite, the Russian dance will feature Armen Haggopian and Company.

With professional dancers from national and international companies, the Nutcracker is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.

Nevada Dance Company, formally known as Pinkerton Ballet, not only brings professional dancers to the stage but has also gained new artistic directors Erica & Oliver Adams. “We are excited to take the legacy that this Nutcracker already has and bring our own professional experience to the production as well as the community” says Erica and Oliver Adams.

Erica Adams goes on to tell us “This particular Nutcracker unveiled my love for ballet when I was a little girl and was the reason I followed my dream of having a professional career in classical ballet.”

The Nutcracker Ballet is being accompanied by 50 young dancers from Douglas County, Carson City, Reno and Lake Tahoe areas and one performer who has been in every show since the beginning. Gail Ruff will join the stage for the 32nd time as the Grandmother of Clara and Fritz.

Ayako Britt, former artistic director of Pinkerton Ballet Theatre, brought this holiday favorite to the Carson City Community 33 years ago and is excited to see Erica and Oliver Adams continue the holiday tradition for years to come.
