Mountain bike ride, Carson River cleanup hosted by Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space
Grab your mountain bikes and take a ride with a Park Ranger through Carson River Canyon on this exciting volunteer opportunity. On Saturday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m., the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department will be hosting a volunteer trash clean-up in the Carson River Canyon Open Space.
Meet at the entrance to Carson River Canyon at the intersection of Deer Run Road and Brunswick Canyon Road near the Deer Run Road bridge. We will bike into the canyon from the entrance. During the ride, we will be stopping along the river to clean up dump sites, micro trash, and other material.
Everyone is invited to join the adventure. Make sure to bring plenty of water, your bicycle, and your appropriate safety equipment. A donation of snacks and beverages provided by Costco will be available during the event.
The terrain is relatively flat and may be rough in some areas. Registration will begin 30 minutes prior to the event. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. If you have any questions, contact the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department.
