House candidate Greg Kidd to speak at Monday's luncheon
Speaking at the September 9th Democratic luncheon will be Greg Kidd, independent candidate for the the United States House of Representatives, Nevada District 2. As no Democrat is running, Kidd is in a two-way race against incumbent Republican Mark Amodei. He intends to caucus with the Democrats, but has pledged to work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle.
Greg Kidd wants to build on Nevada's traditional strengths in the fields of mining, hospitality, and recreation by attracting more high-value industries to the region, along with affordable housing and the infrastructure to support a better quality of life for all Nevadans.
Though he embodies the free-wheeling Nevada spirit, Greg is a staunch advocate for both personal responsibility and personal rights, most notably a woman’s right to choose. He also strongly believes in employers paying a living wage that gives everyone a fair shake and a fair share of opportunities in the district.
Though he first came to Nevada for the trails, Greg soon fell in love with the state. His vision now is to foster creation of a business environment that creates good-paying jobs and benefits all Nevadans. His "get it done" political philosophy means he will work with both major parties on practical policy making.
Greg took his first company – a messenger service – public before he turned 40. Having become known for his exceptional business acumen, he worked in the Rockies for the National Outdoor Leadership School, and as a senior analyst for the Federal Reserve in Washington DC. He was also a founding investor for a number of very well known startups.
Greg has two teenage daughters, both of whom are much better snowboarders than he is.
This event is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, September 9th, and can either be attended in person at Black Bear Diner, inside Max Casino, or online via Zoom. The presentation will begin after all orders have been taken - around 1:30. Those wishing to be on distribution for luncheon Zoom links should contact Rich Dunn at richdunn@aol.com.
