Great Sierra River Cleanup set for Sept. 15 around Lake Tahoe region
Join in to help keep the Lake Tahoe area clean during the 10th annual Great Sierra River Cleanup held in conjunction with California Coastal Cleanup day. Hundreds of volunteers will be going out this day cleaning up areas around Lake Tahoe.
Bring your reusable water bottle, gloves if you have them and friends. Snacks and equipment provided. The cleanup is Saturday, Sept. 15 and runs from 9 a.m. to noon at multiple locations around Lake Tahoe.
A lunch celebration for volunteers will be hosted after the cleanup at the League to Save Lake Tahoe office at 2608 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe, Calif. Beer will be provided by Oskar Blues and wine by Robert Mondavi.
The cleanup is In partnership with Clean Tahoe, Sierra Nevada Conservancy, California Coastal Commission, United States Forest Service - Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, and the City of South Lake Tahoe.
