LGBTQ+ & Friends Social Raises $1,500 for Sassabration – Nevada Pride

Members of the Social raised $1,500 for Sassabration – Nevada Pride – this month. Drawing on our members’ commitment to fostering a stronger, safer LGBTQ+ & Friends Community in our area, a generous amount was pledged making the Social a Sassabration Sponsor.

Two events to look forward to:

“Life’s a Beach” Social. Saturday, August 17th at Red’s Old 395 Grill in Carson City. Wear your favorite summer hat and Hawaiian shirt or both to our lunch. Best Hat and Ugliest Shirt Contest. Sassabration is an annual fundraiser supporting local organizations: PFLAG Carson Region, the Ron Wood Family Resource Center and CASI – Carson Animal Services Initiative

The kickoff Parade to Sassabration begins at 11am, the Brewery Arts Center, 449 West King Street, Carson City. Join the fun group of pirate ships, art cars, bicycles and walkers as we make our way down two miles of Carson Street to the event that’s held at the location of Sassafras Eclectic Food Joint, Carson Hot Springs & Shoe Tree Brewing at 1500 Old Hot Springs Road. Costumes are highly encouraged!

This day long festival features live music, food, vendors & fun for everyone. Live music and performances begin at 1pm.

The Bear Fire in Sierra County, Calif., grew quickly Monday after starting around 2 p.m. As of 7 a.m. Tuesday morning the fire has consumed 1,391 acres north of Truckee. Mandatory evacuations are in place as the fire is being fought from the air and ground.
