Muscle Powered Trash Mob Did It Again
Last Saturday morning 15 intrepid Carson City area "Trash Mobbers" came out to clean up the wetlands to protect the birds and wildlife. We met near the Humane Society on Airport and then walked along the Carson Freeway Multi-Use two thirds of mile to access the wetlands area.
Thanks to all who came out and gave an hour of their time to gather approximately 375 pounds of trash so to make the area more aesthetically pleasing and to protect the birds and wildlife that live in this area.
Established in 1997, Muscle Powered is a community group dedicated to making Nevada’s capital city a better community for bicycling and walking through advocacy, education, and promotion of bike-and-pedestrian-friendly roadways, and bike-and-pedestrian-friendly development and redevelopment.
Among the many functions of the group, not only does it do monthly trash mobs throughout Carson City but holds weekly walks, hikes and bike rides that are free and open to the public. All are encouraged to join in.
For information about the group, see its website here and go here to follow its Facebook page.
