Carson City Cooperative Extension Needs You
Do you have skills, a hobby, special abilities? Are you looking for an audience to share them with? Look no further. Carson City’s University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is looking for adults to share their knowledge with 4-H youth ages 9 – 19.
Area adults can choose to spend a few hours, a day, a month or more giving a demonstration, leading a 4-H club or teaching our teens leadership skills. Our UNCE staff will help guide you through the process of getting you ready to work with the age group you feel comfortable with: Juniors – 9 – 10, Intermediates – 11- 13, or Seniors – 14 – 19.
The amount of time leading your group is up to you. Spend a club meeting or two teaching about Puppetry. Demonstrate how to prepare a meal. Lead a 4-H Fishing club or teach 4-H’ers how to tie flies. How about graphic design or teach area youth to sew (often this includes the mom’s as well). The sky is the limit and it’s wonderfully fun.
Now’s the time to get started. Give us a call and schedule an appointment to talk about your special abilities you want to share at (775) 887-2252. We look forward to hearing from you.
4-H is a youth program for ages 5 – 19 offered by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. In addition to suggested project areas above, Carson City/Storey County 4-H offers cloverbuds (ages 5-9), cooking, shooting sports, robotics and more. For more information about 4-H and/or Extension near you please contact the office at (775) 887-2252 or visit www.unce.unr.edu
