Youth Soccer Night on Saturday at Pro Soccer Match
The Carson Region's only Professional Development sports team, Western Nevada Futbol Club, sits atop the national United Premier Soccer League's Pro Premier Division-Northwest Conference and will be hosting Magic Valley FC from Twin Falls, Idaho this Saturday.
The match-up will take place at Dayton High School, with a kick off time of 7:00 PM. Saturday's Game is also Youth Soccer Night, any family(up to 5 people) with a child/youth in their team jersey will be admitted for free!
Western Nevada FC was victorious 1-0 in their last contest against Magic Valley FC, with a goal in the 55th minute from Jose Sanchez of Reno who was assisted off a one touch pass from Cristian Hernandez. Both teams displayed exceptional goalkeeping and Western Nevada FC’s goalkeeper Kyle Wilson held on to a clean sheet all the way through to the final whistle. Although Western Nevada FC was victorious in the past match up, this should be a hard fought battle for both teams.
Western Nevada FC will be counting on the leadership from Alex Martinez a Conference player of the year at Peninsula College in Washington State as well as Carson's own brother combination Cristian and Guillermo Hernandez. These players have been a big part of Western Nevada FC’s rise to first place along with former Lassen College star Anthony Chinchilla and English National standout Will Dunstone.
"This will be a great evening of soccer" said Ian Hill, the teams Head Coach and GM. "It will also be a chance to celebrate all the families and teams that play soccer in our area, there will be prizes, great food and of course free tickets for all the families with a player in uniform"
