Carson City seeks community partners, volunteers and donations for 2023 Kids to Parks Day
Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play promoted by the National Parks Trust. This year, the event will be hosted on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Mills Park.
The Carson City Park Rangers are seeking community organizations to participate in the event and offer an outdoor activity for kids and families to enjoy. This will be a great opportunity to advertise and engage with the public.
There are also several spaces for food and beverage vendors. Contact Senior Park Ranger John Costello at JCostello@carson.org if you are interested in participating. There are limited openings available for vendors and organizations so reach out as soon as possible.
The Park Rangers are also seeking volunteers to assist with the event. Volunteer help will be needed for a variety of tasks like set up and take down, checking in Jr Park Rangers, assisting with Jr Ranger Olympics, Mills Park Clean up, and more! If you are interested in volunteering, reach out to Volunteer Coordinator Chelsea Kincheloe at CKincheloe@carson.org.
Not interested in participating, but still want to help with this special event? The Park Rangers are accepting prize donations to be awarded throughout the day to Jr Park Rangers. The second annual Jr Park Ranger Olympics will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners all day long. If you are interested in donating a prize, reach out to Park Ranger Danielle Sattler at DSattler@carson.org.
The event will be free for the community! To stay updated on details, check here for updates. Official advertising and details will be announced at a later date.
