Carson City Parks, Rec and Open Space to host Full Moon Hike this Saturday
The Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department will host its February Full Moon Hike this Saturday on the South end of Prison Hill. The hike will be a glow stick adventure featuring the "Snow Moon," Ghost Rock and plenty of beautiful terrain.
The adventure begins at the South end of Prison Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 8. The parking area is located 0.9 miles South on Golden Eagle Lane from the intersection of Snyder Avenue.
The hike is moderate, but covers about 2 miles over rocky and sandy terrain. Registration will begin at 6 p.m., but participants are encouraged to register ahead of time at www.carson.org/ccpr
Come prepared dressed for the weather and bring water, glow sticks, a flashlight, and good hiking shoes. Dogs are welcome but must remain on a six-foot leash during the hike. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
