Northern Nevada's very first Great Basin Scottish Highland Games is happening this Saturday, June 4 in Sparks.

Hosted by the Northern Nevada Throwing Company, this all-day event will feature Scottish Heavy Athletics, axe throwing, 7 Troughs Distillery, Highland cows, and a variety of venders providing entertainment, food, drink and fun. Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band will be joining the festivities.

As part of the ongoing Nevada Humanities Exhibition Series, a new exhibition, Unity: Community, Family, and the Future, opens at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery on June 2, 2022, and will be on display online at nevadahumanities.org.

Nevada Health Centers’ School-based Health Center, located at 618 W. Musser Street in Carson City, will be offering COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations to adults and children during a walk-in clinic on Wednesday, June 1, from 9 to 11 a.m. A parent or guardian is required to attend the appointment of a minor receiving the vaccines.

The Brewery Arts Center is proud to present a new exhibition in the Artisan Gallery, the works of Adam Whitney. Carson City's The Greenhouse Project will be hosting an open house on June 6 to celebrate its most recent expansion at the Carson High School campus.

The site expansion is on additional land at the high school that the Carson City School District is allowing TGP to use to start both composting and nursery plant operations.
