A New Season: Carson Farmers Market begins Saturday, June 4

Event Date:
June 4, 2022 (All day)

The Carson Farmers Market is kicking off the summer of 2022 with the best place to get the freshest produce, honey, baked goods, jams, and artisan goods in Carson City.

The Farmers Market will begin this Saturday, June 4 and runs every Saturday through the first weekend in October from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Each Saturday, our local parking lot is transformed into a community gathering place filled with live music and a sense of community walking with all our vendors and neighbors. In the early morning hours, vendors begin setting up fresh produce, meat, jams and baked goods while local artisans display their work. You may also find a couple of non-profits that add to our community. Soon after that, the parking lot welcomes the community customers who network with the small businesses that support our community.

You don’t just find the seasonal ripe produce or the sweetest ear of corn, but just being at the market has a fun vibe. Chat with our farmers and vendors, learn about all the varieties of produce and explore new finds with the family. Grab a morning snack and coffee while strolling the open-air market and enjoy live music by local artists. The Carson Farmers Market is the best way to spend your Saturday mornings.

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is available by visiting the information booth. This program helps families bring home more healthy food for their benefit. The market offers a $1 for $1 match, up to $20 each market. That means a family can use $20 of their SNAP benefits and get $40 worth of fresh, healthy food.

How it works:

  • bring your SNAP card to the market information booth
  • swipe your card
  • get a dollar for dollar match up to $20 each market day

Beginning in July, RSVP will be distributing Senior Coupons, and you can visit their website (https://www.nevadaruralrsvp.org/) for more information. You can get updates on information through the Carson Farmers Market social media pages and emails (https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/lytCmcI).

Ms. Coons said, “we strive to enrich the community and provide a safe place to connect and buy the freshest produce, honey, baked goods, jams, and much more. Our market allows these valuable farmers, ranchers and small businesses to thrive and contribute to our local economy. We would love for you to visit and see for yourself all that is the Carson Farmers Market!”

As a friendly reminder, pets are not allowed.
