The Carson City Historical Society presents a new exhibit, "If These Gowns Could Talk" that will cover Edwardian and Victorian fashions — the how and why of fashion along with a photographic exhibit of early Carson City around 1900. On Friday, April 8, the Nevada Department of Wildlife received reports of numerous dead fish at Wildhorse Reservoir in northern Elko County. After surveying the area, NDOW biologists have confirmed that a die-off event occurred, impacting mainly yellow perch and a few channel catfish and trout.
The lake was mostly ice-covered earlier in the week on Sunday, April 3. Due to increased air temperatures and high winds, the reservoir was completely free of ice by Wednesday.

The Carson City Senior Center was recently awarded a grant from the State’s $30 million Community Recovery Grant program. This grant program, funded by American Rescue Plan dollars, aims at utilizing existing non-profits in Nevada to provide direct and immediate community services.

NVroads.com reports chain controls on US-50 from Glenbrook to mile post 1.0 in Carson City; SR-207 from US-50 Junction to Dagget Pass; SR-28 from US-50 Junction to Crystal Bay and SR-431 from State Route 28 to Douglas Fir Drive.
