Should Herschel Walker win his Georgia U.S. Senate race Tuesday - it will be due to Governor Kemp's ground game. Couple that with Kemp defeating Trump's handpicked Spring '22 gubernatorial opponent, former U.S. Senator David Perdue, losing
by 50 points from Georgia primary nominating Republicans - Kemp could well been seen - more and more nationally, as the Republican who did the ultimate Trump checkmate, finally!

If so, could Kemp become the "traditional party renaissance" so critically needed for Republicans, rather than DeSantis and many other wannabes?

UPDATE: National Weather Service forecasters says stormy activity remains possible through Monday morning, with light snowfall accumulations (1 inch or less). However, some areas that receive localized heavier snow showers may accumulate several inches, particularly across the foothills of the Carson Range, Virginia City Highlands and the Surprise Valley.

With temperatures expected to dip below freezing areawide Sunday night, slick and icy roadways are possible by the morning commute on Monday. Check road conditions at NVRoads.com before heading out and allow extra time to get to your destination Monday morning.

A winter storm continues Sunday at Lake Tahoe and Sierra bringing gusty wind and several inches of snow. Lower valley areas may see rain and light snow showers later Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 5, for former Carson City Supervisor Brad Bonkowski at the Nashville Social Club from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.

The Artisan and Ag Holiday Faire offered numerous country themed gifts, agricultural products, hot food and livestock demonstrations to the Old Storke Dairy in Centerville Saturday.

Patrons shopped for holiday gifts from local vendors, including local honey, hand made soaps, clothing, and more.

4-H students displayed roping, chicken handling, and more, while those who wished to brave the outdoors were treated to wooly lambs, fat happy pigs, hay rides, horses and more.

The event, hosted by Carson Valley Meats, is free to attend and continues through 4 p.m.

Balloon Nevada is sponsoring free hot air balloon rides to benefit Toys for Tots in Carson, Douglas, Storey and West Lyon counties.

Tethered balloon rides will take place on December 10th from 7am to 1pm (weather permitting).

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Kenneth T. Furlong, the 26th sheriff to serve Carson City and Ormsby County since 1861. Among the topics to be discussed will be school security, the Sheriff Department's deescalation policy, and what may be unintended consequences of current juvenile detention practices. Two Carson City women were arrested in the area of E. William Thursday night for possession of methamphetamine after allegedly cutting off a deputy.

According to the report, the deputy was patrolling in the area of E. William and Gold Dust West Way when a vehicle made a left hand turn on a yellow, cutting in front of the deputy who was driving through the intersection.

Nevada Rural Housing (NRH) announced its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV, also known as Section 8) wait list will open on December 9, 2022 and will remain open until December 16, 2022.

The HCV program is the federal government’s major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities to afford decent, safe and sanitary housing in the private market.

Two candidates were appointed to fill terms on the Carson City Open Space Advisory Committee by unanimous vote.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors heard a presentation Thursday regarding a proposal to increase landfill costs both for in-county and out-of-county users.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office Investigations Division is seeking the identity of two suspects involved in a stabbing that happened late Wednesday night at a North Edmonds Drive casino.

On Thursday, the Board of Supervisors approved a zoning map amendment regarding a proposed development on N. Ormsby Lane.

The approval came after a second reading was held on the application from KP Investors LLC, which amends an 8.41 acre parcel from single family 12,000 to single family 6,000.

Holiday with a Hero has been serving Carson City students for two decades, pairing local heroes (responders from numerous professions) and students together in order to provide them with a shopping spree in time for the holidays.

A 32-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for four counts alleged possession of stolen firearms among other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office report.
