Carson City deputies make separate arrests for stolen firearms, child abuse and neglect
A 32-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for four counts alleged possession of stolen firearms among other offenses, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office report.
Manuel Gil Solano was taken into custody following an investigation. He also was booked for suspicion of seven felony counts possession of a firearm by an undocumented immigrant and misdemeanor suspended registration and no proof of insurance.
According to the booking report, Solano was stopped by a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy due to the suspect's vehicle having suspended registration. During the stop the suspect did not have proof of insurance.
As part of the investigation, a K9 alerted positive to a narcotics odor during an exterior sniff of the vehicle. Deputies did a search of the vehicle and located the following weapons:
— A Glock 19 located in center console reported stolen out of Sparks.
— A Winchester Model 70 270 located behind the driver and passenger seat reported stolen out of Reno.
— A Browning Citron 12-gauge shotgun behind the driver and passenger seat reported stolen out of Reno.
— A Remington SP-10 12-gauge shotgun behind the driver and passenger seat reported stolen out of Reno.
— A Browning Model 2000 12-gauge shotgun located behind the driver and passenger seat.
— A CMMG AR style rifle located in a black gun case on the back seat.
— AK47 type semi-automatic rifle located in black gun case on back seat.
Also located was a box of 223 ammo and in the black gun case in the back seat and multiple AR style magazines, AK47 style magazines and random loose ammunition, the report states.
He was arrested for possession of the stolen weapons and taken to jail. All weapons were taken into evidence. It was learned during the investigation that the suspect is an illegal immigrant. Bail: $25,000.
In other arrests:
— A 40-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of child abuse, neglect with physical or mental harm and suspicion of child abuse neglect with physical harm, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Joshua James Hadley was arrested at 6:29 p.m. following an investigation. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched at 5:55 p.m. to Carson Tahoe Urgent Care in regards to a report of an intoxicated man. Upon arrival, the deputy met with a nurse inside who was treating two 14-year-old girls.
A deputy was advised the girls were brought in to be seen for COVID related symptoms by their parental guardian, Joshua James Hadley. Deputies were advised the man was belligerent, grossly intoxicated and threatened to punch one of the girls, the report states.
A deputy met with Hadley outside and additional deputies were called to respond. Hadley had trouble communicating with deputies and fell to the ground while trying to lean against a wall, the report states.
Hadley stated his girlfriend is currently in custody with CCSO and he was tasked by her to care for the 14-year-olds and said the girls have been staying at a friend's home who he didn't know the name, phone number or address of the place the girls were staying, the report states.
According to the report, Hadley told deputies that the two girls had flu like symptoms and were transported to urgent care.
The man voluntarily and freely provided a preliminary breath test, resulting in an error, which means he was above a .5 breath alcohol content (BAC), the report states.
Based on the man's level of intoxication, and inability to care for the two girls, especially the girls being severely ill, and being unable to find a safe place for the girls, deputies determined the man was neglecting their medical needs and he was arrested, the report states.
Due to his intoxication level he was taken to Carson Tahoe Hospital and then to jail. The girls were released to the custody of the Division of Child and Family Services. Bail: $40,000.
