Washoe Lake State Park hosts 3rd annual Trail of Lights: A Drive-Through Holiday Celebration
Enjoy some holiday cheer at Washoe Lake State Park with a sparkling drive-through festival of lights over four nights, Dec. 8-11. Campground Loop B will be decorated with a jolly display of twinkling lights and holiday scenes.
Event goers are invited to stay warm and merry while listening to favorite holiday music as they drive through the campground, enjoying the cheerful decorations.
Participants will stay in their vehicles as they drive through the loop. Drivers should be prepared for congested traffic and a long line at the park entrance. Hot chocolate will be available as supplies last on Friday and Saturday nights.
Organizers note there is a vehicle clearance limit of nine feet, six inches (9'6") including the antenna. Vehicles taller than 9'6" will not make it through the decorated campground loop.
WHEN: The program will run for four nights, Dec. 8-11, from 5-8 p.m.
WHERE: Washoe Lake State Park Campground Loop B. Take Highway 395 south from Reno through Pleasant Valley. Turn left onto Eastlake Blvd. and drive south seven miles. The park entrance is on the right.
Washoe Lake State Park urges motorists to use caution, as the road dark, with horses and deer frequently crossing Eastlake Boulevard.
WHO: This event is open to the public and is hosted by Washoe Lake State Park.
COST: $5 per vehicle for Nevada residents and $10 per vehicle for non-Nevada residents. Cash, checks and credit cards accepted.
