The exciting subject of “vehicle tows” and “abandoned vehicles” is the topic of the message of the week. I know it’s not as exciting as saturation patrols or breaking up cock fighting rings, however while manning the Sheriff’s Office booth at the car show this weekend, I was asked about this subject numerous times. At community events such as City Council meetings or Advisory Board meetings, the citizenry frequently asks questions, and makes complaints regarding the removal of abandoned vehicles.

A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on a violation of bail conditions warrant Thursday night in the 3100 block of Otha St.

According to the arrest report, Special Enforcement Team deputies arrived on scene to service the warrant, and surrounded the house just after 10 p.m. Using a loud speaker, they ordered all occupants out of the house.

An unprecedented group of Lake Tahoe destination management, land management, and non-profit organizations launched the Lake Tahoe Destination Stewardship Plan on Tuesday with the signing of an agreement to create the first destination stewardship council for the greater Tahoe region.
