The nation’s largest free nostalgic classic car show, Hot August Nights, returns to Virginia City this weekend and then Reno for 10 days this summer. Students and employees returning to Carson Middle School in Carson City for the first day of school Monday, August 19, 2024, will notice a complete facelift of their school’s cafeteria.

Matt Axton, son of legendary country music star Hoyt Axton, will appear at the Red Dog Saloon in Virginia City, with his band Badmoon, on Saturday, August3 at 7 pm.
