Third prisoner who died in fight at Ely State Prison identified
The Nevada Department of Corrections has released the name of the third offender killed in Tuesday’s fight at Ely State Prison.
The third inmate has been identified as Anthony Williams, who was serving life without the possibility of parole for habitual criminal and open murder. Williams, 41, came to the NDOC on April 11, 2019 and was sentenced out of Clark County, according to a NDOC news release.
The other deceased offenders were Zackaria Luz and Connor Brown.
Luz, 42, was serving seven to 18 years for racketeering. He came to the NDOC on Oct. 5, 2023, and was sentenced out of Clark County.
Brown, 22, was serving seven to 20 years for robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, with a deadly weapon enhancement. He came to the NDOC on May 13, 2021, and was sentenced out of Washoe County.
No officers were injured. Nine offenders were transported for treatment. The investigation remains active and Ely State Prison remains on lockdown.
