A man who led Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies on a vehicle pursuit late Wednesday afternoon and was wanted for parole violation was arrested Thursday, according to the Carson City Sheriff's Office.

One year ago, Nevada’s own dinosaur, Nevadadromeus, received its official name and description, entering the specimen into the annals of paleontology. In recognition of this incredible discovery, the Nevada State Museum and the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City will be hosting special events this week commemorating the first anniversary of Nevadadromeus, the first official dinosaur discovered in the Silver State.

On Thursday, Carson City Supervisors voted to approve a new pilot program at the Carson City Jail called the Family Services Unit, which will be created to support inmates with children and at-risk children.

The program is preventative, which means that it is not offered to anyone currently facing charges for child-related crimes such as abuse or neglect.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly throwing rocks at a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy, according to a sheriff's office booking report.
