Carson City Elks put on surf and turf dinner for local veterans
Carson City Elks No. 2177 held a Veterans Dinner on Nov. 11 that was free to all Carson City veterans.
The Surf and Turf dinner was chaired by Bill LaMar, the Exalted Ruler. Lisa Maciel, Deputy Director of Nevada Department of Veterans Services (NDVS) benefits, was the keynote speaker and spoke about all the benefits they provided to Nevada veterans.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who made this event happen. The cooks were Dan and Cindy Lively, Poul and Ann Fisker and Carol Park. Servers were Bill and Dee LaMar, Karen Ferreira and Theresa Battaglia.
Joann Linder did a beautiful job decorating the tables for the Veterans to enjoy. Small gift packages were handed out to almost 70 attendees provided by the Greater Nevada Credit Union.
