The ornament is a collector’s item, with a 3-demensional appearance, showcasing the Ferris Wheel, Mr. Ferris’ most memorable and inventive building design.

With his engineering degree, George Ferris became involved in bridge construction, but rose to fame when a challenge was made to build something amazing that would rival the Eiffel Tower, to be showcased at the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893 in Chicago.
Mr. Ferris devised this concept when a young lad in Carson City, Nevada, as he observed water wheels turning and powering heavy machinery at the local stamp mills. His “Ferris Wheel” was 250 feet tall, with thirty-six cars that could hold up to forty riders as it made one revolution every 20 minutes.
