The Douglas County Community and Senior Center annual auction kicked off on Tuesday, November 21 and will continue through December 15. The Foundation Board has been working behind the scenes for months procuring incredible items and packages for bid, thanks to amazing donors.

The Hidden Treasures Gift Shop at Carson City Senior Center at 911 Beverly Drive is having a Holiday Craft Sale. Friday Dec. 1 and Saturday Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the gift shop and the foyer of the Senior Center. This sale helps support seniors and the Meals on Wheels Program.

The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be KNVC General Manager Steve Funk. He will tell the story of Carson's community radio station from its humble beginnings in 2017 to today's diverse programmings that includes talk shows, news programs, serial dramas, and music genres that run the gamut from Rock, Pop, Blues and Jazz to Celtic, Retro, and Psychedelic.

Agriculture and art meet to showcase the region’s artisans and ag students at the 3rd Annual Ag & Artisan Holiday Faire Saturday, Dec. 2, at the historic Storke Dairy, 876C Centerville Lane in Gardnerville, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Friends in Serving Helping (FISH) annual Thanksgiving feast became a bit more special this year as members of the Carson High School Student Council gave up some of their holiday time to volunteer their services to serve those in the community who might otherwise not enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving spread.

Sierra Nevada Realtors has announced the winners of the 2023 Sierra Nevada Realtors Awards. SNR is a realtor association serving six northern Nevada counties including Carson City, Washoe, Lyon, Storey, Churchill and Douglas counties.
