Carson City Community Thanksgiving at The Plaza serves more than 400
Thanksgiving Day has came and went but the gratitude felt and the impact of the volunteers who made the dinner at a The Plaza Event Center in Carson City, will last all season long.
Pictured is some of the many volunteers who helped feed over 400 hungry neighbors at FISH’s Thanksgiving feast on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.
A special thank you to Kristen and Dwight from the Plaza Events Center, Billy from the Bus Boy Catering, Carson City, Calvary Chapel church, and all of our community who donated turkeys and fixings for the Thanksgiving feast and 250-plus baskets of food people took home to cook for their families.
If you were unable to attend it lend a hand at the Thanksgiving Day meal and would like to find other ways to give back with FISH to the Carson City community this season, FISH is accepting on-going donations of food items for the holiday season.
Drop offs can be made to the FISH Food Bank, 138 E Long St, Carson City, Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
Other events include:
— Empty Bowls - Dec. 1 at the Carson Mall; 4 to 8 p.m. ($15)
— Share Your Christmas - Dec. 8 at the Governors Mansion; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (donated foods to FISH).
