UPDATE 9:18AM: NV Energy reports power mostly restored throughout Douglas County. The problem appears to be caused by equipment failure at the Buckeye Transfer Station in Douglas County. East Fork Fire units responded to the fire in the equipment area and NV Energy is working on the damage. Power has been fully restored for South Lake Tahoe area customers.

More than 17,000 NV Energy customers are without power Monday morning, while thousands more across the state line in South Lake Tahoe are also experiencing an outage.

CARSON CITY — State transportation contracts announced during Friday's Nevada Transportation Board of Directors meeting are projected to support 1,456 jobs while helping provide a transportation system to keep Nevada safe and connected.

Just before 3:30 p.m., a crash was reported involving a bicyclist and a vehicle on Long St. near Carson St.

The bicyclist is reported to have suffered a leg injury, possibly a break.

Several minors were arrested Wednesday in Dayton after Lyon County deputies responded to a 911 report describing an attempted burglary.

According to deputies, multiple juveniles were in the area of Mark Twain Park in Dayton when another group of juveniles began following them.
