Some of the best up and coming golfers from across the country will soon descend on the Dayton Valley Golf Course to begin their quest for a PGA tour card. The Dayton Valley Golf Course is hosting the first round of qualifying for the Korn Ferry tour, which is a developmental tour for the PGA.

CARSON CITY — Nevada leaders are excited to announce the U.S. Economic Development Administration is providing a $160,000 grant to the Nevada-based Great Basin Institute to establish the nation’s first-ever professional recreation trail building school in Ely, Nevada.

A 56-year-old Dayton man was arrested Wednesday for two warrants, one alleging sexual assault on a child under the age of 14, and the other alleging battery with intent to commit sexual assault, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

The 2nd annual Raise the Roof to Ease Poverty is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9. Beginning at sunrise, KBUL on-air personality and Catholic Charities supporter, JJ Christy will perch himself atop the Catholic Charities building located on Valley Road and East Fourth Street braving the elements until the organization raises $150,000. The NV Energy Foundation has awarded its Clean Energy Access for Nevada (CLEAN) grant to four Nevada nonprofit organizations, Envirolution, Faith Organizing Alliance, Las Vegas Indian Center and Make the Road Nevada, for programs that will advance workforce development and promote the benefits of clean energy in Nevada, especially in rural and historically underrepresented communities.

A 38-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor obstructing an officer, preventing or dissuading a witness from testifying and a misdemeanor bench warrant, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

On Monday, September 20, 2021 at approximately 4:13 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers stopped a white 2005 Pontiac G6 sedan that matched the description from an armed robbery that was reported eight minutes earlier at Best Buy in Carson City. The vehicle stopped just west of I-580 on Neil Road in Reno.
