Restaurant inspections are made weekly by the Carson City Health and Human Services Environmental Health Division. 
Inspections are through April 2, 2014 and include restaurants, bars and lounges, convenience stores and the Ron Wood Family Resource Center, which scored a AA scores of 100.

A federal court Monday ruled in favor of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, affirming an update to the Lake Tahoe Regional Plan that took years to craft, according to the agency.

The lawsuit was filed by the Sierra Club and Friends of the West Shore in February 2013 following nearly a decade of public input to update the plan originally adopted in 1987.

A new dialing procedure for telephone customers within the existing Southern Nevada 702 area code becomes mandatory in less than a month.

Starting May 3, customers must dial 10 digits – the area code plus the telephone number – for all local calls. Callers who dial seven digits will receive a recorded message instructing them to dial 10 digits.

Two men were arrested Friday, 3:45 a.m. at the intersection of William and Stewart streets in Carson City on drug-related charges.

Casey S. Clifford, 20, faces a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and three lesser charges: obstructing an officer, possession marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A 31-year-old man was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

A Fallon man died Sunday in a motorcycle crash north of Virginia City, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
James Edward Cooper, 67, died from injuries after being taken by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno.

NHP troopers were dispatched at 12:50 p.m. to the crash on State Route 341 approximately 2 miles north of Virginia City, said Trooper Dave Gibson.
