Recently, I’ve made some sizable changes in my life. Call it “spring cleaning” of the soul, if you will. I’ve changed the way I socialize, who with, and why I do it in the first place.

I have said goodbye to people I thought would be in my life forever, people who made an indelible mark on who I am and people who were simply friends because we co-existed in the same place. Why did I do all this “cleaning?” I did it to make room for something better.

Two people were arrested by Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies this weekend in separate cases, each on suspicion of child neglect and other charges.

In the first arrest, a 47-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Sunday, 12:50 a.m. after being arrested in the 1400 block of East William Street. She faces three gross misdemeanor counts of child endangerment, misdemeanor DUI and failure to maintain lanes.

Reno-based commercial Real Estate company NAI Alliance has expanded with a branch ownership in Carson City.

Beginning Monday, the Carson City branch is owned and operated by brokers Andie Wilson and Brad Bonkowski. The partners will operate at their current location, 223 S. Division St., under a licensing agreement from the Reno office NAI Alliance Office.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. A few dozen people were in Carson City Friday morning planting pinwheels to raise awareness of the issue. But they're not just spinning, they spin with a purpose.
Dozens of people, including many children, placed pinwheels on the lawn of the legislative building in Carson City Friday to raise awareness of this issue.
