Motorcycle crash north of Virginia City claims life of Fallon man
A Fallon man died Sunday in a motorcycle crash north of Virginia City, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
James Edward Cooper, 67, died from injuries after being taken by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
NHP troopers were dispatched at 12:50 p.m. to the crash on State Route 341 approximately 2 miles north of Virginia City, said Trooper Dave Gibson.
The crash investigation details indicate a bronze colored 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Cooper was traveling southbound on SR 341 and failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The motorcycle struck a guardrail on the west shoulder and Cooper was ejected from the motorcycle where he received critical injuries.
Cooper was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center by Care Flight where he later died of his injuries.
