On Sunday morning, a Carson City family lost everything in a home fire.

The Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department is seeking the community's input on the new dog park at Ronald D. Wilson Park in North Carson City.

The new dog park area will be fenced for off-leash use and intends to replace the existing doggie drinking fountain.

Hello fellow anglers. Not really the best weather for fishing right now in the sierras, but I do want to pass along some info for an alternative.

Starting January 18th to the 21st will be the International Sportsmen's Expo in Sacramento California. You can go to the International Sportsmans Expo Sacramento website to get the itinerary for all the days and times for each of the demos and exhibits.

Just after 5 p.m. on Thursday evening, Carson City deputies were dispatched to the area of Fairview Drive and Butti Way on report of a crash involving an intoxicated subject.

When deputies arrived on scene, they made contact with a 40-year-old Carson City man who was driving the at fault vehicle.

Those who were hoping for a brief respite from stormy conditions are out of luck I’m afraid.

Tonight, Friday Jan. 12, there is a slight chance of snow between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., followed by rain and snow. There is little or no snow accumulation expected according to the National Weather Service.

Due to weather and dangerous road conditions being more severe than anticipated, non-essential University of Nevada, Reno operations and in-person Wintermester classes will be suspended, today, Friday, Jan. 12. Joe Lombardo has ordered all State executive branch government offices (other than essential public safety and corrections personnel) remain closed on Friday, January 12, 2024 in Carson City, Churchill County, Douglas County, Lyon County, Storey County, and Washoe County.

For the second straight day, Governor Joe Lombardo announced the closure of all state government offices in Northern Nevada.
