Weekend Storm update: With Rain and Snow on the horizon, expect icy conditions in Carson City and beyond
Those who were hoping for a brief respite from stormy conditions are out of luck I’m afraid.
Tonight, Friday Jan. 12, there is a slight chance of snow between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., followed by rain and snow. There is little or no snow accumulation expected according to the National Weather Service.
Then tomorrow, Saturday Jan. 13, rain and snow are expected prior to 8 a.m. followed by rain. The high will be near 44, which could help melt away some of the accumulation on the roads.
However, with a low of 29 degrees, this could also lend itself to very icy conditions during the evening and night.
Motorists must slow down during inclement conditions. Already this morning there have been a number of accidents caused by motorists driving too quickly across the icy roads, especially in the stretch between Dayton and Carson City.
