Alzheimer’s disease the topic at Carson City Democratic luncheon

January 8, 2024 - 1:00pm The featured speaker at Monday's Democratic luncheon will be Sandy Severance, Community Engagement Manager for the Alzheimer's Association of Northern Nevada. She will provide an overview of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia more generally, and Alzheimer’s Association services available locally. Topics include the impact of Alzheimer’s, myths and facts, risk factors, the 10 warning signs, and how others can join the fight against the disease.

In the early 1900’s he attended his first photo workshop in Bodie, California. From there, he continued to expand his knowledge and expertise in the use of the film camera, producing in excess of 15,000 slides over the next ten years from a base at Lake Tahoe.

Semi vs Subaru crash reported in front of Kohls, injuries reported

According to dispatch, a semi “ran over” the front of a Subaru, and the driver of the Subaru complained of injuries.

Despite a couple false starts that brought snow only to the higher elevations, we may finally see some — but not much — snow on the valley floor tomorrow.
Heather "Lil' Mama" Hardy Comes to Minden

evening with Heather “Lil’ Mama” Hardy. Heather will perform at the CVIC Hall,
1602 Esmeralda in Minden, at 7 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024.
Heather “Lil' Mama” Hardy will light up the stage with incendiary music from
blues and jazz to rock and bluegrass. Heather’s musical journey goes from
New York City to Tucson, Arizona where she and her duo are regular features
with the Tucson Jazz Festival and regional events.
Tickets are $22 members, $24 general audience, and kids under 18 are free

Nearly 500 Western Nevada College students have earned exemplary academic honors by being named to the Fall 2023 Dean’s List.
The 487 students making the grade for inclusion on the Dean’s List exceeds the 461 students on the Fall 2022 Dean’s
List and the 419 students on the Fall 2021 Dean’s List.

Carson High School’s Senior in the Spotlight this week is Malia (Mia) Alvarado. Mia is an amazing student and has attended CHS for all four years, earning an Academic letter. She has taken Honors level classes and is actively involved in the Early Childhood Education Program.
