A Midsummer Night's Dream youth production May 12-13 at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center

LTI Educational Commonwealth is pleased to announce our production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The cast is comprised of youth ages 10 and up who have been studying Shakespeare's plays and influence in their class this year.

Carson High School graduation rate rebounds post COVID, ACT test scores yet to pull up

In 2019, the graduation rate for Carson High School was at nearly 94.6 percent; however, only two years later in 2021, the rate dropped significantly with only 88.7 percent being awarded their diploma.

Cooking with Nettles class at Stewart Indian School is now closed to registration

Thank you to the community for your overwhelming response to the first class offered at the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum. This class, "Cooking with Nettles" taught by Melanie Smokey, Washoe/Yomba cultural plant medicine expert, is now full and closed to registration. We will post a notice if this class is offered again in the future.

Carson City schools celebrate National School Library month, gear up for School Library week

In honor of National School Library month, which takes place throughout April, as well as National Library Week, which takes place April 23-29, Carson City librarians are celebrating with a number of activities for their students.

This is the 38th annual celebration, which will lead up to Nevada Reading Week in the first week of March.

Prescription drug 'take back' event in Dayton this Saturday

DAYTON, Nev. — National Prescription Drug Take Back events offer safe ways to dispose of expired or unneeded prescription drugs.

This weekend, as part of National Drug Take Back Day, Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties, Lyon County Sheriff's Office, and Smith's have come together to host a drop off location in Dayton for unneeded medications.
