April 29, 2023 (All day) The Mindful SEAD is hosting free workshops in Northern Nevada for area school educators and support staff on Saturday, April 29. The Mindful SEAD (social-emotional academic development) is a non-profit organization providing educators with tools and strategies to support their well-being.

MINDEN — On March 1, 2023, Community Services Director Scott Morgan was honored with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the Nevada Recreation and Parks Society. This award has only been given out two times in the 77-year history of the organization.

Warmer and drier weather will come to an end as a storm system approaches western Nevada and Sierra, according to the National Weather Service.
Weather changes begin Monday, that will lead to cooler and windier conditions along with snow showers, mainly in the Sierra, according to the weather service.

The old Golden Dragon restaurant has stood empty on North Carson St. for decades, even after it was purchased by the Bunny Ranch’s Dennis Hof — who even broached the idea of turning the location into a topless bar — until it has now found new ownership and a new life.
Roger’s Carpet One Floor and Home first began operating in 1986 as Roger’s Magic Carpets, before it joined the Carpet One franchise in the late 90s.

The Senate Commerce and Labor Committee voted along party lines Friday afternoon to “indefinitely postpone” the bill, essentially killing a proposal that came together at the request of Gov. Joe Lombardo.

Care Flight ordered for stab wound victim at Carson City shelter

Just before 1 p.m. Carson City deputies and EMTs were dispatched to a men's shelter on Gibson Ave. on report of a man with a stab wound.
An altercation broke out between two individuals and the victim was stabbed in the arm and chest.
