Nevada Department of Corrections suspends visitation statewide due to COVID increase

CARSON CITY — The Nevada Department of Corrections announced Monday that visitation will be temporarily suspended statewide due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases among offenders.
Carson City emergency crews respond to crash at junction of I-580, US 50 and South Carson Street

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Division responded Sunday night to a vehicle crash near the intersection of I-580, US-50 and South Carson Street. A Care Flight air ambulance was ordered.

NDOT to install livestock fencing on US-50 in Dayton to reduce vehicle-horse collisions

CARSON CITY — Beginning Monday, Jan. 10, drivers will see periodic shoulder and single lane closures on U.S. 50 in Dayton as the Nevada Department of Transportation installs livestock fencing to reduce vehicle-horse collisions.

Every so often a student emerges from the shadows by challenging himself to ever increasing levels of accomplishment. One such student is CHS 2018 graduate Hayden Story. Hayden began training for gymnastics at three-years-old and was competing from age six through middle school.

As the first child born in 2022 at Banner Health in Fallon, Theodore Amorsolo James has been awarded a full academic scholarship through WNC’s Foundation.
