Second, the package deal, priced at $30 per couple, went viral as “The Cheapest Date Ever,” stirring up worldwide ridicule.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate a missing, endangered 34-year-old woman, Christy Pasillas. She was last seen by her family in Carson City on Jan. 8 2022.
Carson City School District to close schools Thursday and Friday due to illness surge

Due to the strain on staffing resources caused by the recent surge in illness (COVID-19, flu related or otherwise) and out of an abundance of caution, all schools in the Carson City School District will close for two days, Thursday and Friday, Jan. 13-14, 2022. With the observed Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday this Monday, students and employees are expected to return to school Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022.
Center opens on UNR campus to serve Nevada children with autism, other learning disabilities

Early intervention learning services to Nevada children with autism and other neurodevelopmental or learning disabilities are now being provided by the new Spectrum Learning Center at the University of Nevada, Reno. The center provides service to children aged three to eight years old and works closely with family and community stakeholders.

NV Energy seeks $5.25 a month residential customer rate hike to recover transmission line costs

NV Energy has submitted an application to recover costs associated with installing a transmission line that runs between northern and southern Nevada. If approved, electric bills for single-family homes would increase by $5.25 a month or 4.8 percent over the course of nine months.
