SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — The South Lake Tahoe City Council took the first steps in creating an ordinance that will allow park-model RVs less than 400 square feet in size on parking pads at South Lake Tahoe properties to help alleviate the housing crisis.

Douglas County awards more than $125K in community grants to local non-profits

MINDEN — Douglas County Board of Commissioners awarded $125,200 in grant funding through the Community Grant Program to non-profit organizations that provide substantial benefit to residents of the community on January 6, 2022. Over the past 13 years, the Community Grant Program has awarded over $1,715,000 to help support countless non-profit organizations.

Prescribed fire operations to continue around Lake Tahoe

The Tahoe Fire & Fuels Team will conduct prescribed fire operations this week, if conditions and weather are favorable. Operations are expected to continue throughout the winter season to help land managers reduce hazardous fuels that can feed unwanted wildfires. Smoke will be present.
