Barbara Lynn Clark is the winner of the 6th Pat Holub Award for her oil painting “Leaving Bodie.” The Pat Holub Award is an award presented by Pat Holub during the Annual Nevada Artists Association’s “Nevada Day Show.”

Carson City Senior Center to host Veteran's Day celebration

Veterans and seniors are invited to the Carson City Senior Center Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. for a special presentation of the colors and speeches by the Carson High School NJROTC to recognize and honor those that served and sacrificed for the freedom of our country.

Construction of Carson City's new 160-unit affordable workforce housing project could begin in March

Dan Stucky, Deputy Public Works Director, gave an update regarding Carson City’s affordable and workforce housing project known as Sierra Flats during Thursday’s Board of Supervisors meeting. The project would create 160 units specifically for those with lower incomes.

Since the project last came before the Carson City board 18 months ago in April, the development team has been able to secure federal funds and grants after overcoming numerous hurdles.

Carson City arrests: Drunk man can't find car at casino, throws fit and breaks slot service light

Coach Blair Roman has retired as Head Football Coach after 14 seasons leading the Senators Football Program. Coach Roman’s record at Carson High School was 81-63. The Senators won 6 league titles under his guidance: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015. His teams also qualified for the playoffs 9 times.
