Carson City Toyota donates to residents of Richards Crossing

In October, Carson City Toyota General Manager Jeff Campagni presented Richards Crossing with a $1,500 donation. Richards Crossing is a Nevada Rural Housing affordable housing property that opened in 2016, providing safe housing for the homeless, displaced veterans and very low-income families.

Nevada Wildlife Commission to hold workshop, discuss drafting coyote hunting competition ban

The Nevada Board of Wildlife Commission will hold a workshop Friday to discuss language for a potential ban of wildlife hunting competitions, specifically predatory or furbearing animals such as coyotes.

Nevada Raider Nation, Carson City Chapter will host a Las Vegas Raiders game watch at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 at Jimmy G's in Carson City.

The Chapter will have a 50/50 cash drawing this weekend; tickets are $1 each. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or snack to share. Jimmy G's offers discounts to Chapter members on drinks.

Memberships are still being accepted and are $25 per person.

Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5 to 11 available beginning Monday at Carson City Health and Human Service events

Carson City Health and Human Services will be offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for those ages 5 to 11 years at community COVID-19 vaccination events throughout the Quad-County Region (Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County, and Storey County) starting Monday, Nov. 8, 2021.

Nominations for Carson City, Washoe County Senate seat to be determined Thursday by Board of Supervisors

Tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 4, the Carson City Board of Supervisors will put forth their nomination of a Carson City or Washoe County resident for the District 16 Senate seat vacated by Ben Kieckhefer, which encompasses both Washoe County and Carson City.

All nominees must be a resident of either Carson City or Washoe County and must be registered Republicans.

New art classes offered for adults, children at Carson City's Brewery Arts Center

The Brewery Arts Center in Carson City is adding more new classes to its growing catalog of opportunities. This Friday, November 5 the BAC will offer a new Creative Kids class from 3:30 to 5:30 to create a Four Seasons Painting with instructor Debbie Corona. Using acrylics students will be painting all 4 seasons on one painting, using colors that correspond to the seasons.
